Accountant – VAT & Financial Operations

About the role

Join a leading international pharmaceutical organisation in Berchem as an Accountant. You will handle VAT declarations, support daily accounting tasks and contribute to month‑end and year‑end closing in a supportive, multilingual environment.

Key responsibilities

• A‑Z responsibility for monthly and quarterly VAT declarations (BE and other EU countries).
• Assist with daily operational accounting tasks such as posting financial journals and processing purchase invoices.
• Manage cash‑flow, prepare foreign currency exchanges and ICO‑payments.
• Prepare vendor payments in Isabel and administer expense note applications.
• Record monthly accruals and deferrals, and support month‑end and year‑end closing.
• Back‑up other accountants and contribute to ad‑hoc projects aimed at process optimisation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy.
• First years of experience in a similar accounting role.
• Good knowledge of Belgian VAT regulations.
• Fluent in Dutch and English.
• Accurate, detail‑oriented and proactive.

Required skills

• Proficient in MS Office.
• Knowledge of MS AX (Dynamics AX) – a plus.
• Knowledge of MS D365 (Dynamics 365) – a plus.
