Academic Position in Clinical and Topographical Anatomy

About the role

The Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry and the Institute of Experimental and Clinical Research at UCLouvain are seeking a full‑time academic to teach, conduct research and provide community service in clinical and topographical anatomy.

Key responsibilities

• Teach human anatomy to large undergraduate cohorts, focusing on clinical, radiological and surgical relevance.
• Supervise Master’s and PhD theses and lead research programmes in morphology and tissue engineering for transplantation.
• Participate in programme and examination committees, and contribute to university service and societal outreach.

Required profile

• PhD in Medical Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Motor Sciences or equivalent; a medical degree is an asset.
• Proven university teaching record with formal evaluations and an international publication record.
• Experience abroad or extended stay outside the awarding institution.
• Fluency in French and English (or commitment to acquire both within two years).

Required skills

• Ability to integrate research results into teaching.
• Capability to obtain research funding and manage research teams.

• Tenure after a successful probationary period (typically four years) with public‑sector pension.
• Progressive salary based on seniority and promotion, teaching load capped at 90 hours (full‑time) and 150 hours (tenured).
