System QA Engineer

About the role

You will work at the intersection of software, hardware, networking, and embedded systems, building a thorough understanding of complex onboard railway solutions. The role involves translating system requirements into robust test strategies, developing automation tools, and acting as the final technical quality gate before deployment on operational trains worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Review system requirements and translate them into robust test strategies and automated test scenarios.
• Develop Python‑based tools, extend the automation framework and improve system testing and diagnostics.
• Execute complex system‑level test runs, investigate unexpected behavior, analyze logs and interfaces, and debug across components to identify root causes.
• Collaborate with developers, provide clear technical findings and contribute to product and design improvements.
• Develop automated regression coverage and continuously enhance testing reliability and efficiency.

Required profile

• Degree in engineering combined with relevant experience.
• Versatile, hands‑on generalist QA comfortable across software, hardware, systems and tooling.
• Practical experience designing and executing system, integration and regression tests.
• Strong debugging skills and ability to investigate issues across product design, software, hardware and interfaces.

Required skills

• Python programming with solid OOP understanding.
• Networking knowledge and troubleshooting.
• Linux environment and embedded‑system experience, including SSH access.
• Experience with test automation frameworks and regression automation.
