Young Professionals Programme – AI & Operations Research Analyst

About the role

The NATO Young Professionals Programme (YPP) offers a three‑year, full‑time development journey for early‑career professionals. You will rotate through three NATO bodies – Allied Air Command in Ramstein, Allied Command Transformation in Norfolk, and Joint Force Command Brunssum – applying artificial intelligence and operations research to support current and future NATO operations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct operational analysis and operations‑research activities for ongoing and planned NATO missions.
• Support capability development programmes by selecting and applying appropriate analytical techniques.
• Provide data‑driven insights to enhance defence planning, cyber and space initiatives.
• Collaborate with multinational teams across Europe and North America.

Required profile

• National of a NATO member state.
• Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, computer science, mathematics, economics).
• At least one year of professional work experience.
• Willingness to relocate to Germany, the United States, and the Netherlands during the programme.
