Statutory & Tax Accountant – Permanent or Interim

About the role

We are seeking a Statutory & Tax Accountant to join a large international industrial group with multiple production sites in Belgium. The position can be filled on a permanent basis or as an interim/freelance assignment, supporting the Belgian entities with statutory reporting and tax compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain statutory accounts in accordance with Belgian GAAP.
• Analyse and reconcile differences between IFRS and local accounting standards.
• Coordinate external statutory audits and ensure compliance with the Code of Companies and Associations.
• Prepare and file corporate income tax returns, calculate tax estimations and pre‑payments, and monitor new tax legislation.
• Manage investment deductions, withholding taxes, transfer‑pricing documentation, and Pillar Two reporting.
• Support tax audits and liaise with tax authorities.
• Meet statutory and tax deadlines, maintain internal controls, and provide statutory data for management and group reporting.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant with a tax specialization and at least 5 years of experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with tax specialization and at least 10 years of experience.
• Strong knowledge of Belgian GAAP and Belgian corporate tax rules.
• Good understanding of transfer‑pricing rules and internal‑control principles.
• Autonomous, rigorous, results‑oriented and accountable.
• Fluent in Dutch, French and English.
