Software Engineer – Backend & Cloud (Antwerp)

About the role

As a Software Engineer at Centrica Energy you will join an experienced agile team focused on building and enhancing systems that support power trading operations. The position is based in Antwerp and offers the chance to work on cutting‑edge technologies that drive the green energy transition.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain robust backend services and APIs using .NET C#.
• Build intuitive desktop applications with WPF and integrate external systems via Web APIs.
• Ensure code quality through unit testing and automated testing frameworks.
• Leverage AWS and Kubernetes to deliver scalable, cloud‑native solutions.
• Manage data storage with MongoDB, PostgreSQL and MSSQL.
• Implement real‑time messaging using RabbitMQ and Kafka.
• Monitor applications with Datadog and automate deployments with Jenkins, Octopus Deploy and Argo.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders using Git, Jira and Confluence.
