Software Engineer, Analytical Applications

About the role

Crunch builds data‑driven companies and needs engineers who can turn sophisticated models into usable applications. As a Software Engineer for Analytical Applications you will create the screens where planners, buyers and managers make decisions, blending UI, UX and engineering into a single discipline.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop web‑based decision cockpits, generative BI front‑ends and what‑if tools on top of Crunch’s data platforms.
• Integrate applications with real business processes, including ERP write‑backs, approval workflows and alerts.
• Make model outputs clear on screen, showing uncertainty, confidence and rationale without overwhelming users.
• Own the full stack – front‑end, API layer and the glue to underlying data platforms.
• Choose the appropriate implementation approach (custom build, Streamlit prototype or low‑code) and defend the decision.

Required profile

• Strong front‑end engineering skills (TypeScript, React or similar) with a good design sense.
• Solid back‑end and API experience (Python or comparable) and comfort with databases and data platforms.
• Demonstrated eye for UI/UX in data‑heavy contexts, with examples of user‑friendly tools.
• Pragmatic performance mindset – understand why interfaces feel fast and keep them fast with large data sets.
• Fluent English communication.
