Site Supervisor (Piping & Mechanical Engineer)

About the role

The Electro‑Mechanical Site Supervisor will lead the on‑site execution of the electro‑mechanical scope for water, energy and hydrogen infrastructure projects. Reporting to the Design Coordinator and Project/Construction Manager, the role requires fluency in Dutch, French and English and close collaboration with internal disciplines, subcontractors and external partners to ensure client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate design activities (3D modelling, consultants, clients) for piping and ensure constructability.
• Identify piping clashes and develop technical solutions with civil works.
• Prepare and issue RFQs for piping and mechanical equipment; evaluate technical and commercial offers.
• Perform stress calculations, thermal‑expansion analysis and support design verification.
• Review equipment datasheets, define final pricing and contribute to the project risk matrix.
• Conduct final supplier compliance checks, negotiate and issue purchase orders.
• Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), issue reports and manage corrective actions.
• Supervise equipment installation, monitor QA/QC and PED directive compliance (welding, pressure testing).
• Issue and close non‑conformities, support start‑up and commissioning.
• Track planning, budget, variations and claims; coordinate with process, electrical, instrumentation and civil disciplines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electro‑mechanical engineering.
• Fluency in Dutch, French and English.
• Proven experience in site supervision of piping and electro‑mechanical installations.
