Sharepoint System Administrator

About the role

The Sharepoint System Administrator will provide operational support for the PAS infrastructure, handling incidents, processing service requests and ensuring the Sharepoint environment runs smoothly. The role includes coaching Level‑1 support staff, contributing engineering input for operational improvements, and maintaining up‑to‑date Standard Operating Procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Handle incidents and process service requests in line with ITIL processes.
• Perform corrective maintenance, monitor performance and health of Sharepoint farms.
• Deploy and activate change packages submitted by Level‑3 teams.
• Create, configure and manage site collections and Sharepoint web portals.
• Deploy Sharepoint applications, manage updates and security patches.
• Administer key services such as Managed Metadata, User Profiles and Search.
• Tune databases (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL) and optimise performance.
• Monitor system alerts, application usage and storage space.

Required profile

• Operational support experience for PAS or similar infrastructure.
• Ability to coach and guide Level‑1 support personnel.
• Strong understanding of ITIL V4 foundations and related processes.
• Fluent English communication skills.

Required skills

• Microsoft SharePoint (installation, configuration, site collection management).
• VMWare virtualization basics.
• Database management: SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL.
• Web hosting platforms: IIS and Apache.
• Basic knowledge of IaaS, DMZ, SSI and PAS concepts.
• ITIL V4 Foundation certification.
