Senior Strategic Communications Associate - Brussels and France (Built Environment)

About the role

The Senior Strategic Communications Associate will join the Global Strategic Communications Council (GSCC) in Brussels, leading the design and delivery of communications interventions that shift narratives around building decarbonisation across the EU and France. The role sits within a dedicated Built Environment Strategic Communications Hub and works closely with a network of partners in Brussels, France and other EU member states.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic communications campaigns to influence public, political and market narratives on building decarbonisation.
• Maintain a comprehensive overview of EU and national policies affecting the built environment, including EPBD implementation, heat‑pump mandates and renovation waves.
• Conduct political and media monitoring to ensure interventions are timely and evidence‑based.
• Build and sustain trusted relationships with French journalists, stakeholders and decision‑makers.
• Coordinate with the Europe Manager for the Built Environment Programme and other GSCC partners to align messaging across key European markets.

Required profile

• Strategic thinker with deep understanding of EU institutions and the interplay between Brussels and national capitals, especially France, Germany, Poland and Spain.
• Proven ability to own projects from strategy development through delivery with significant autonomy.
• Strong experience in climate‑related communications, narrative development and campaign management.
• Excellent analytical skills to translate policy developments into clear, compelling messages.
