Senior SCADA Software Engineer

About the role

Join a dynamic development team that maintains a business‑critical SCADA system operating 24/7 to keep the power perimeter balanced across Belgium, France, Germany and the Netherlands. You will help extend the system’s geographical scope, integrate flexible assets and ensure compliance with European grid codes supporting the energy transition.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the Hitachi Energy MicroSCADA X (SYS600) platform.
• Implement both back‑end (SCIL) and front‑end (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript) features.
• Apply architectural and software‑craftsmanship principles (SOLID, DRY, KISS, YAGNI) to build scalable, robust solutions.
• Collaborate in an Agile/SAFe environment with analysts, dispatchers and technical teams.
• Provide on‑call support after onboarding to guarantee system availability and grid stability.
• Contribute to tools for real‑time monitoring, data exchange with TSOs and calculation of set‑points for FCR, aFRR and mFRR.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in IT, electrical engineering or a related field.
• Experience with SCADA systems, preferably Hitachi ABB MicroSCADA.
• Ability to work in a high‑availability, 24/7 operational environment.
