Senior Python Developer (AI Augmented)

About the role

Devoteam Creative Tech, Belgium's leading digital consultancy, is looking for a Senior Python Developer in Machelen. You will design and develop robust, scalable web applications and back-end systems in an AI-augmented role, actively using AI tools in your daily workflow.

Key responsibilities

• Take part in the architecture and design of web solutions with clean, maintainable and scalable Python codebases.
• Work with the wider team to scope and build new web applications and back-end services.
• Develop flexible back-end architectures using Python frameworks and cloud services.
• Use AI-assisted tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, Gemini) to speed up coding, debugging, testing and documentation.
• Design and implement AI-powered features such as LLM integrations, RAG pipelines, conversational AI interfaces and intelligent automation.
• Participate in code reviews, testing and quality assurance, and help resolve technical issues.
• Guide junior developers and communicate with clients and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Fluency in Dutch or French and English.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, good understanding of software design patterns, SDLC, security and testing principles.
• Genuine curiosity about AI and willingness to stay up to date with frameworks, cloud technologies and AI via training and certifications.
• Good communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical people.

Required skills

• Python core concepts, object-oriented and functional programming, async patterns.
• Web frameworks: Django, Flask or FastAPI; REST API development.
• Databases and ORMs (SQL, SQLAlchemy, Django ORM, Peewee); Git.
• Testing (pytest, unittest, end-to-end) and security (OAuth2, JWT).
• AI tools: hands-on experience with GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Gemini, Claude; LLM API integration; LangChain, LlamaIndex, Hugging Face; RAG patterns and vector databases.
• Nice to have: AWS, Azure or GCP; AI agents (LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen); MLOps; React, Vue.js or Angular; Docker and Kubernetes; microservices, event-driven and CQRS architectures.
