Senior Infrastructure & DevOps Engineer – Azure, Terraform, AKS

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Infrastructure / DevOps Engineer to join a leading banking client’s Innovation Tribe. The role focuses on building, operating and integrating cloud‑native platforms on Azure, ensuring secure, scalable and automated delivery of digital services.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Group Technology Services (GTS) to provision and manage infrastructure aligned with enterprise standards.
• Design and implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, ARM templates and Bicep.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test and deployment processes.
• Set up and manage development, test, pre‑production and production environments in Azure, including networking, compute, storage and platform services.
• Implement security controls such as identity, access, secrets management and network security in line with CISO and GTS requirements.
• Ensure observability through logging, monitoring, alerting and performance optimisation.
• Support release and deployment activities, providing troubleshooting and post‑deployment validation.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in Azure cloud services and container orchestration (AKS).
• Strong background in Infrastructure as Code and automation (Terraform, ARM, Bicep).
• Proven ability to design and operate CI/CD pipelines.
• Solid understanding of security best practices and compliance in a banking environment.
• Experience working in regulated, enterprise‑level environments with governance frameworks.

What we offer

• Competitive day rate of £500‑£800.
• Hybrid working with 8 days onsite per month in London.
• 12‑month contract within IR35 umbrella arrangement.
