Senior Electronics Hardware Engineer – Connectivity & Powertrain

About the role
Cowboy is seeking a senior electronics hardware engineer to lead the design, validation and industrialisation of the electronic subsystems that power its e‑bikes. The role focuses on connectivity modules (BLE, GNSS, EDGE, LTE‑M, Qi) and sensor systems, while also supporting power‑train components such as BLDC motors and battery‑management systems.
Key responsibilities
- Design analog, digital and mixed‑signal circuits for communication modules and sensor systems, including schematics, PCB and antenna layout.
- Select components based on performance, cost, availability and lifecycle risk.
- Drive RED, CE and EMC certification, coordinating test houses and notified bodies.
- Validate hardware through bench testing, system integration, environmental and reliability testing, and field trials.
- Bring up prototypes, troubleshoot issues, perform root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate with EMS partners and Asian suppliers for manufacturing qualification and transfer.
- Maintain engineering documentation such as schematics, BOMs, test reports and change records.
- Collaborate with firmware, mechanical and supply‑chain teams on hardware‑software co‑design.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field.
- 5‑7 years of experience in electronic hardware design and development, preferably in automotive or e‑mobility.
- Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design principles.
- In‑depth knowledge of BLDC motor control and battery‑management systems.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout.
- Experience designing BLE, EDGE, LTE‑M, GNSS and Qi wireless modules.
- Ability to place antennas within complex 3‑D environments.
- Hands‑on PCB assembly using solder paste and reflow ovens.
- Use of lab equipment such as Vector Network Analyzer.
- Familiarity with CE, RED and EMC certification processes.
