Senior Digital Platform Architect

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Digital Platform Architect to lead the design and governance of a multi‑channel digital platform (Mobile, Web, and Backend‑for‑Frontend) as part of a major transformation program in Brussels. The role collaborates with product owners, engineering teams, enterprise architects and business stakeholders to ensure the platform is scalable, secure and aligned with business goals.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain the target architecture across Mobile, Web and BFF layers.
• Establish architectural principles that support scalability, extensibility and maintainability.
• Define API and integration standards and platform contribution models.
• Ensure architectural consistency across all layers and enforce governance.
• Provide technical leadership, review designs and implementation approaches.
• Support proof‑of‑concepts and MVP initiatives.
• Coach engineering teams and promote best‑practice architecture.
• Align platform architecture with enterprise standards and security requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Solution, Software or Platform Architect.
• Experience designing enterprise‑scale digital platforms.
• Strong background in cloud‑based and distributed architectures.
• Hands‑on experience in Agile environments.
• Strategic thinking, analytical mindset and excellent stakeholder communication.
• Ability to simplify complex technical concepts and balance technical excellence with business needs.
• Fluent English (mandatory); Dutch or French with strong Dutch knowledge.
