Senior DevOps Engineer – Remote (EU)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior DevOps & Platform Engineer to join an international team delivering critical technology solutions for the defence sector. The position is fully remote within any EU country, with occasional travel to Belgium for project meetings and workshops.

Key responsibilities

• Automate infrastructure provisioning and application delivery.
• Design, build and optimise CI/CD pipelines.
• Maintain consistency across development, testing and production environments.
• Support hybrid and multi‑cloud platforms and implement Infrastructure as Code best practices.
• Manage configuration and orchestration processes.
• Improve platform reliability, scalability and automation.
• Collaborate with development, operations, security and architecture teams.
• Integrate secrets management and security controls.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.
• Enable engineering teams through automation and platform best practices.

Required profile

• 5+ years of relevant experience for senior level or 10+ years for expert level.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or equivalent experience.
• Professional proficiency in English (mandatory); French is a plus.
• Experience working in complex enterprise environments, preferably within the defence sector.

Required skills

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts.
• CI/CD pipeline design and implementation.
• Configuration management and orchestration.
• Hybrid and multi‑cloud environment expertise.
• Secure software delivery practices.
• Tools: Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD platforms.
• IaC tools: Terraform, ARM Templates, Bicep.
• Automation: Ansible.
• Version control: Git.
• Artifact repositories and secrets management solutions.
