Senior Cyber Security Expert – Brussels (EU Organization)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Cyber Security Expert to join a high‑level international environment in Brussels. The successful candidate will help shape and strengthen the EU organization’s cyber resilience, aligning initiatives with EU frameworks and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support the implementation of cybersecurity initiatives across the organization.
• Assess cyber risks, identify vulnerabilities and define mitigation measures.
• Support incident response and cyber crisis management activities.
• Develop, maintain and update cybersecurity policies and procedures.
• Monitor emerging cyber threats and security trends.
• Collaborate with European stakeholders, authorities and relevant partners.
• Deliver cybersecurity guidance, training and awareness programmes.

Required profile

• Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of professional experience in cybersecurity, preferably in the public sector or EU institutions.
• At least one GIAC certification (GCIH, GCFA, GNFA, GREM) and additional certifications such as CISSP or CISM.
• Strong knowledge of EU cybersecurity regulations, NIS Directive and GDPR.
• Excellent communication skills in English; additional EU languages are a strong asset.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary, multi‑stakeholder environments.
