Senior Cloud Migration & Azure Architect

About the role

The Senior Cloud Migration & Azure Architect will lead enterprise‑wide migration and modernization programs, transforming legacy on‑prem, Cloudera/Hadoop and monolithic applications into Azure‑native services. You will act as a technical authority, partnering with business stakeholders and engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable, and cost‑optimized solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute end‑to‑end migration strategies (re‑host, re‑platform, refactor, re‑architect) for data warehouses, applications, and Hadoop ecosystems.
• Define and govern Azure Landing Zones, reference architectures, and ensure compliance with the Azure Well‑Architected Framework.
• Architect serverless and event‑driven solutions using Azure Functions, Event Hub, Service Bus, Logic Apps, and APIs.
• Build real‑time streaming platforms with Azure Event Hub, Azure Kafka, Stream Analytics, and Databricks Structured Streaming.
• Lead the design of lakehouse architectures on ADLS Gen2 combined with Azure Databricks and Spark‑based ETL pipelines.
• Implement security, governance, and reliability controls (Azure AD, RBAC, Key Vault, Defender, Sentinel, Azure Policy, disaster‑recovery).
• Promote Infrastructure‑as‑Code (Terraform, ARM, Bicep) and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
• Provide technical guidance, cost modeling, and mentorship to architects and senior engineers.

Required profile

• Extensive hands‑on experience designing and delivering large‑scale Azure migration projects.
• Strong knowledge of legacy data platforms (Cloudera, Hadoop, on‑prem data warehouses).
• Proven ability to work with cross‑functional teams in Agile/SAFe environments.
• Excellent communication skills to act as trusted advisor to stakeholders.
