Senior Backend Software Engineer – Digital Assets Platform

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join a strategic Digital Assets Platform initiative for a leading financial institution in Belgium. The role focuses on building next‑generation financial solutions such as stablecoin payments, tokenized deposits and tokenized investment funds, leveraging blockchain and programmable money technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend services for stablecoin payment processing and tokenized financial products.
• Implement on‑chain and off‑chain integrations, including custody solutions and Hardware Security Modules (HSM).
• Write, test and audit Solidity smart contracts on EVM‑compatible networks.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams in an Agile environment using Jira and Confluence.
• Contribute to the evolution of tokenization platforms and stablecoin infrastructure.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional experience in backend software engineering.
• Strong expertise in Java and Java SDK.
• Hands‑on experience with JMS, JavaScript and JSP.
• Solid experience with blockchain technologies, EVM‑compatible networks and Solidity development.
• Knowledge of on‑chain/off‑chain integration, custody solutions and HSM.
• Familiarity with Agile tools such as Jira and Confluence.
