Senior Backend Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to help build technology that makes a real difference in healthcare. You will own the design and delivery of scalable backend services for an international HealthTech scale‑up, working closely with product, engineering and leadership teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain core platform components and APIs.
• Build robust data models and integrations that support complex business logic.
• Translate product requirements into clean, well‑tested code.
• Review code, enforce engineering best practices and improve system performance, reliability and scalability.
• Work with cloud infrastructure (AWS) and deployment pipelines.
• Support AI‑assisted development workflows while ensuring code quality and security.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to architectural decisions.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong pragmatic mindset with a focus on delivering production‑grade backend solutions.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to mentor and guide other engineers.
