Senior Accountant & Controller – Path to Finance Manager

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Accountant & Controller to join the finance team of a global law firm in Brussels. This position combines statutory accounting responsibilities with controlling, budgeting and business partnering, offering a clear progression to Finance Manager within three to five years.

Key responsibilities

• Own the monthly close for the Belgian entity, including general ledger and fixed‑asset cycles.
• Perform controlling activities: budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis and reporting in close partnership with senior management.
• Manage Belgian tax compliance, including VAT, Corporate Income Tax, audit files and government submissions.
• Ensure balance‑sheet integrity and clean reconciliations aligned with the group’s control framework.
• Drive continuous improvement of finance processes, reporting tools and the impact of shared services.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• 3 to 10 years of experience in controlling or tax/accounting, preferably within a multinational environment.
• Fluent in French or Dutch and fully proficient in English.

What we offer

• Salary up to €70,000 gross per year, based on experience.
• Permanent contract, 38 hours per week.
