Senior Accountant – Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, France

About the role

Miele Belux is looking for a Senior Accountant to act as the link between financial processes, people and administration. Working in a multinational team with a manager who prepares you for a career within Miele, you ensure accurate accounting together with controllers, the shared service centre and external accountants and advisors, including spotting bottlenecks and risks related to legislation and regulations.

You are the first point of contact within the Belgium affiliate and the right hand of the Accounting Manager covering the Belgium/Luxembourg/Netherlands/France cluster.

Key responsibilities

• Support month-end and year-end closing for the Belgian entity with the global shared services teams in Poland
• Ensure accurate bookings, accruals, reconciliations and allocations to cost and profit centers
• Act as key contact for external and internal audit matters
• Support tax and legal compliance, including VAT and other statutory declarations
• Evaluate internal systems, controls and risks and recommend improvements
• Contribute to Belgian and global process optimization projects
• Support the FP&A team with reporting and follow-up

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting, economics or business administration
• More than 8 years of experience in a similar role
• Strong accounting foundation, including closing periods, balance sheet ownership and statutory and tax reporting
• Experience in a multinational, multi-location matrix environment
• Excellent written and spoken English, and Dutch and/or French

Required skills

• Experience with SAP is an advantage
• Proficiency in Excel
