Security Investigator

About the role

The U.S. Embassy in Brussels seeks a Security Investigator to join its Regional Security Office. You will conduct investigations, liaise with local police and law‑enforcement agencies, and help protect embassy personnel and visiting U.S. officials.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out security investigations related to potential threats to personnel, facilities, or information.
• Maintain regular contact with local police, security services, and other law‑enforcement officials.
• Assist in planning and coordinating protective measures for embassy staff and visiting U.S. government officials.
• Collect, analyse, and report intelligence on security risks.

Required profile

• Option A: Minimum 2 years of university studies plus 3 years of experience in law enforcement, military, private security, or investigations.
• Option B: Secondary school diploma plus 5 years of comparable experience.
• Fluency in Dutch and French; good working knowledge of English.
• Valid driver’s licence (category B).
