Reliability Engineer – Monitoring & Observability

About the role

We are seeking a Reliability Engineer specialized in monitoring and observability to strengthen the infrastructure of a leading Belgian energy company. You will design, implement, and maintain tools that ensure the performance, availability, and security of critical on‑premises systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy and maintain monitoring and observability platforms.
• Create custom dashboards, alerts and visualisations using modern tools.
• Implement distributed tracing and log aggregation solutions.
• Define SLI/SLO frameworks and best‑practice monitoring processes.
• Ensure security compliance of monitoring tools in an on‑premises environment.
• Automate deployment and configuration management.
• Collaborate with development teams to improve application instrumentation.
• Monitor system performance, availability and reliability across services.
• Participate in 24/7 on‑call rotation for incident support.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of reliability practices.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 + years experience in monitoring and observability.
• At least 2 + years hands‑on with Grafana and Prometheus in production.
• Strong Linux system administration and networking knowledge.
• Experience with on‑premises infrastructure and security compliance.
• Fluent English (C1); additional Dutch, French or German is a plus.
• Willingness to join a 24/7 on‑call rotation.
