R&D Lab Responsible

About the role

The R&D Lab Responsible will own the day‑to‑day operation of one or more research laboratories, creating a safe, efficient and well‑organized environment that enables researchers and engineers to excel. Acting as the main operational point of contact, you will drive continuous improvement, ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, and coordinate activities that keep the lab running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily laboratory operations and serve as the primary liaison for lab users and service teams.
• Define, maintain and enforce laboratory standards, procedures and ways of working.
• Organise onboarding and safety training for new laboratory users.
• Manage laboratory data platforms, ensuring accurate user access, inventory and tool status information.
• Ensure availability of consumables, chemicals, tool calibrations and maintenance, liaising with internal colleagues and external suppliers.
• Promote a strong EHS culture, conduct regular safety inspections and follow‑up on corrective actions.
• Coordinate risk assessments for new chemicals, equipment and processes.
• Maintain audit‑ready documentation and ensure compliance with internal and external requirements.
• Support the introduction of new or modified processes, coordinating installations, maintenance and planned works.
• Identify risks, inefficiencies and improvement opportunities, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
• Facilitate regular communication with laboratory users, researchers, engineers, safety specialists and suppliers.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing laboratory environments and ensuring safety and quality compliance.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills to convey operational impacts and changes.
• Ability to drive process improvements and manage continuous‑improvement projects.
