Project Manager – Life Sciences

About the role

Comate is seeking a passionate Project Manager to lead the development of innovative life‑science hardware products, from concept to final production. You will work closely with customers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver cutting‑edge medical devices and related technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Lead projects through idea generation, concept design, prototyping, testing and industrialisation.
• Abstract functional blocks from complex system architectures and align development road‑maps.
• Plan and monitor project timelines, budgets, resources and team activities.
• Act as the primary customer liaison, translating needs into optimal product solutions.
• Manage internal and external resources, including partners, suppliers and freelancers.
• Support conformity testing (mechanical & laser safety, EMC, QMS, medical‑device software) to meet internal and external standards.
• Promote company values and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Higher degree in Engineering (mechanics, mechatronics, biomedical, software, etc.).
• Several years of experience as a project engineer, system architect or project manager in interdisciplinary hardware development, preferably in life sciences.
• Broad scientific knowledge (physics, chemistry, biology) and interest in emerging technologies.
• Knowledge of IVD regulations is a plus.
• Strong analytical, project and people‑management abilities.
• Excellent written and spoken English; additional languages are a plus.
• Flexibility, adaptability and ability to work under pressure.
