Principal Project Manager for NATO with Security Clearance

About the role

The Principal Project Manager will lead large‑scale IT projects for NATO, ensuring delivery in line with NATO regulations and NCI Agency policies. The role requires a security clearance and the ability to manage complex stakeholder environments across military and civilian teams.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement and manage assigned projects, adhering to NATO and NCI Agency project management standards.
• Develop procurement strategies, benefit‑risk analyses and business cases to secure sponsor approval and funding.
• Execute quality‑assurance activities to guarantee successful delivery of capabilities and services.
• Collect client requirements, perform analysis, resolve problems and deliver projects within defined time, cost and quality tolerances.
• Identify, plan and allocate resources to meet milestones, initiating corrective actions when needed.
• Supervise project teams in a matrix environment and maintain realistic project plans.
• Communicate regularly and accurately with stakeholders and support other PM‑related activities.
• Provide technical support, deputize for higher‑grade staff and assist other teams as required.

Required profile

• Recognised project‑management qualification (PRINCE2 Practitioner or PMP); equivalent experience may be accepted.
• Minimum three years recent project‑management experience in a large‑scale IT organisation.
• Knowledge of NATO or national governmental acquisition policies and procurement procedures.
• Experience working in an international environment with both military and civilian elements.
• ITIL Foundation certification.
