Payroll Team Leader – Hybrid (Belgium)

About the role

Join Just Eat Takeaway.com as an Interim Payroll Team Lead, overseeing payroll for around 300 employees in Belgium. This hybrid position blends office collaboration three days a week with remote flexibility, allowing you to partner closely with Finance, HR and external providers to ensure flawless monthly payroll delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate a small payroll team, allocating workload and fostering continuous improvement.
• Deliver accurate, on‑time monthly payroll for all staff, handling starters, leavers, variable changes, absences and deductions.
• Reconcile tax and social security submissions, ensuring zero‑error filings within regulatory deadlines.
• Maintain payroll data, checklists and preparation materials for manager sign‑off at submission, pre‑approval and month‑end/quarter‑end.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll queries via the People Portal, providing prompt, values‑aligned support.
• Oversee payroll provider relationships, monitor SLA compliance and verify GL accuracy.
• Support the annual benefits calendar and drive continuous improvement of payroll processes and systems.

Required profile

• Proven experience in high‑volume Belgian payroll, with up‑to‑date knowledge of legislation, tax and social security.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a cohesive team.
• Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, able to build trusted relationships at all levels.
• Strong organisational and time‑management capabilities to meet competing deadlines.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency (PivotTables, VLOOKUP) and comfort working with complex data sets.
