Occupational Health & Safety Advisor – NATO Programme

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Advisor to support a major NATO/NCIA programme focused on headquarters transition and operational readiness in Brussels. The role involves ensuring safe occupancy and compliance across the site and related locations.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the principal OHS advisor for the assigned site and supporting locations.
• Develop, implement, and maintain OHS procedures aligned with ISO 45001.
• Conduct workplace inspections, audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
• Support emergency preparedness, including fire safety, first aid, and evacuation planning.
• Deliver OHS training, awareness campaigns, and safety communications.
• Coordinate health and safety activities for a major headquarters relocation project.
• Ensure safe occupancy readiness through risk assessments, contractor oversight, and compliance monitoring.
• Collaborate with project teams, facilities management, security, medical services, and senior stakeholders.
• Prepare reports, briefings, and recommendations for management on safety performance and risk mitigation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
• Proven experience implementing OHS procedures and delivering health and safety training.
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation, regulations, and standards.
• Active NATO Secret security clearance (mandatory).
