Network Implementation Engineer

About the role

The Network Delivery Implementation team builds and operates Google’s global network, delivering reliable connectivity to billions of users. As a Network Implementation Engineer you will contribute to the full network lifecycle, focusing on automation, efficiency, and rapid service activation across data centers and metro points of presence.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver Google’s network reliably at scale, emphasizing workflow automation and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to create adaptable, scalable deployment processes that reduce cycle time and cost.
• Own a defined area of responsibility, proactively addressing issues, anticipating needs, and escalating when required.
• Identify and implement automation opportunities to prevent recurring failures.
• Maintain accurate network data to support operational excellence.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 3 years of experience with optical network infrastructure, transmission systems, layer 2/3 routers, and data services.
• Experience working with local telecom service providers (colocations) and understanding local regulatory standards.
• Proven ability to collaborate across multiple levels and influence tactical and strategic decisions.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
