Mobile Developer

About the role

POLITICO is looking for an experienced Mobile Developer to join its technology team in Brussels. You will help deliver political intelligence and journalism through a native mobile application, collaborating with an international, agile team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the mobile app using React Native and native integrations.
• Deploy the app to the iOS App Store and Google Play Store, managing build pipelines for both platforms.
• Collaborate with backend teams to build frontend‑for‑backend features.
• Work with modern app development infrastructure and CI/CD processes.
• Implement mobile features such as push notifications, widgets, and automated testing.

Required profile

• Strong software engineering mindset with solid fundamentals and system design skills.
• Ability to work across multiple parts of the stack and adapt to different technologies.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Fluency in English; additional European languages are a plus.
• Comfortable working in a distributed, international environment.

Required skills

• React Native with native integrations.
• Experience publishing apps to iOS and Android stores.
• CI/CD pipeline setup and management.
• Push notifications, widgets, and automated testing.
• Java, Swift, Kotlin.
• Cloud infrastructure (AWS).
• Kubernetes and Docker.
• Interest or experience with AI‑enabled applications (RAG systems).
