Mechanical Engineer – Major Shutdown Planning

About the role
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to lead the planning and execution of major maintenance shutdowns at our site in Charleroi, Belgium. The role involves coordinating cross‑functional teams, providing technical support, and ensuring safe, compliant shutdown operations.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive shutdown plans for major maintenance projects.
- Coordinate with engineering, operations, and safety teams to align resources and schedules.
- Provide on‑site mechanical engineering support during shutdown activities.
- Identify risks, propose mitigation measures, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all shutdown activities and outcomes.
- Manage allocation of materials, tools, and personnel throughout the shutdown period.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering with a focus on maintenance and shutdown operations.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
