Mechanical Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join a leading heavy‑equipment company in West Flanders. The role focuses on delivering safe, stable and cost‑effective technical solutions for installations and structures while collaborating closely with operations, purchasing and site teams.

Key responsibilities

• Create high‑quality designs for installations and structures that meet safety, stability and production standards.
• Develop detailed overview and detail plans to support assembly, transport and lifting activities.
• Manage purchasing requirements, evaluate suppliers and quotes.
• Prepare technical documentation, including maintenance records and functional descriptions.
• Plan realistic schedules based on material availability and site needs.
• Collaborate with Operations, Purchasing and site teams to drive projects forward.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Sciences or equivalent.
• Several years of experience in a similar mechanical engineering role.
• Ability to read complex technical drawings.
• Fluent in Dutch, English and French.
• Strong administrative and organisational skills.
• Autonomous, diplomatic and results‑oriented.
