Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Thales is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join its Tubize site in Belgium. You will become part of a multidisciplinary team that designs and develops hardware for radio‑frequency products, C4ISR, cryptographic solutions and aeronautical intercom systems.

Key responsibilities

• Perform mechanical engineering tasks across the product lifecycle, from concept studies to prototype validation.
• Analyse mechanical requirements using simulations, mock‑ups, models or prototypes.
• Define mechanical functions, specifications and a development plan.
• Prepare a complete data package for hand‑over to production.
• Collaborate with production and procurement to deliver cost‑effective, manufacturable designs.
• Monitor and report technical progress, organising activities and milestones.
• Propose and justify technical choices in line with the approved architecture.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• Significant experience in hardware development, specifically mechanical engineering.
• Strong interest in focusing on mechanical solutions and staying aware of emerging trends.
• Team‑player attitude with a customer‑oriented mindset.
• Analytical and rigorous approach to problem solving.
