Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

SII Belgium is looking for a motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to develop and refine mechanical systems for aerospace and defence clients. You will work on a variety of projects, from concept generation to detailed design, using advanced engineering tools and methods.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and detail concepts using hand calculations and FEM analysis.
• Design, develop, and improve systems such as brakes, steering, hydraulics, pneumatics, and suspension.
• Generate design substantiation through analyses and complex test setups.
• Prepare compliance demonstration reports in English.
• Coordinate with suppliers and support certification activities.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive, Aviation/Aerospace design, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer.
• Strong written communication skills in French; English required, Dutch a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD tools (Creo, SOLIDWORKS, CATIA).
• Experience with FMEA, strength calculations, and FEM.
