Lead Azure Architect – Cloud Transformation

About the role

An organisation undergoing a major cloud transformation is seeking a Lead Azure Architect to own its Azure platform, shape cloud strategy, and drive technical direction across a high‑impact programme.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the architectural direction of a large‑scale Azure cloud transformation.
• Define and evolve cloud strategy, governance models, and architectural standards.
• Design and optimise Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and container platforms.
• Shape integration architecture ensuring secure, scalable connectivity.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and senior stakeholders to align technical and business goals.
• Act as the senior Azure authority for security, networking, landing zones, policy, and automation.
• Mentor engineers and architects to raise cloud maturity across the organisation.

Required profile

• Strong background in Azure architecture, including governance, identity, networking, and landing zones.
• Deep hands‑on experience with AKS and Kubernetes‑based platforms.
• Proven experience leading cloud transformation or modernisation initiatives.
• Ability to design secure, scalable, and resilient cloud‑native solutions.
• Solid understanding of integration patterns (APIs, messaging, hybrid and event‑driven architectures).
• Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence technical direction.
