Key Account Manager – Retail (Junior to Medior)

About the role

Our client, a leading FMCG food company, is looking for a Junior‑to‑Medior Key Account Manager – Retail to strengthen its Belgian commercial team. Reporting to the Country Director, you will manage and develop strategic retail accounts and help execute the commercial strategy across Belgium.

Key responsibilities

• Build strong, long‑term partnerships with key retail customers such as Intermarché, Carrefour, Lambrechts and Cactus.
• Develop annual business plans based on sales performance, market insights and company strategy.
• Prepare and lead business reviews, identifying growth opportunities and category development.
• Monitor sales performance, profitability and commercial agreements across your portfolio.
• Participate in annual negotiations on pricing, assortments, promotions and commercial conditions.
• Identify market trends and translate them into concrete commercial actions.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance and the Field Sales team to ensure flawless execution of commercial plans.
• Support forecasting activities and contribute to ambitious growth objectives.

Required profile

• First successful experience as a Key Account Manager, Junior KAM, Category Manager or Sales professional within the FMCG industry.
• Strong interest in retail negotiations and customer relationship management.
• Analytical thinking combined with a commercial mindset, comfortable working with data.
• Proactive, curious, hands‑on and eager to learn.
• Thrives in an entrepreneurial environment where versatility and ownership are valued.
• Team player with excellent communication skills.
• Fluent in French and good knowledge of Dutch.
