IT & Cybersecurity Engineer

About the role

You will combine hands‑on IT support and system administration experience with a strong focus on cybersecurity. Working closely with the CISO and system administrators, you will help embed security throughout the entire IT environment from the Merelbeke office.

Key responsibilities

• Shape and implement NIS2 requirements and ensure security is embedded in all IT processes.
• Monitor emerging threats and relevant security technologies, keeping defenses up to date.
• Apply and enforce security guidelines and policies across the organization.
• Support daily IT operations and configure systems securely.
• Investigate, follow up on, and handle security incidents.
• Perform security assessments on new hardware and software, analysing risks and advising on safe integration.
• Participate in security‑awareness initiatives and promote cyber hygiene among employees.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or equivalent experience.
• Passion for IT and cybersecurity with strong problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills; able to explain security concepts to non‑technical users.
• Team player who can also work independently and promote security awareness.
• Fluent in Dutch and English.

Required skills

• Microsoft 365 or Entra ID.
• Network architecture knowledge: firewalls, subnetting, routing, VLANs, segmentation.
• Identity and access management concepts.
• Experience with IT support, system administration, or infrastructure management.
• Security incident handling and security assessment techniques.
