IGCSE History & Global Politics Teacher (Full‑time)

About the role

The International School of Belgium is seeking a qualified, full‑time teacher to deliver IGCSE History, IGCSE Global Perspectives and the IB Diploma Programme Global Politics to secondary students starting August 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver high‑quality lessons in IGCSE History, IGCSE Global Perspectives and IBDP Global Politics.
• Foster critical thinking, inquiry, research and analytical skills.
• Prepare students for external examinations and assessments, including marking and standardising assessments.
• Support students with Internal Assessments, the Global Politics Engagement Activity and Extended Essays.
• Develop, share and review curriculum resources and schemes of work.
• Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback to students and parents.
• Participate in school events, extracurricular activities and educational trips.
• Contribute to the school’s commitment to international‑mindedness and intercultural understanding.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher with relevant teaching credentials.
• Experience teaching IGCSE History and/or Global Perspectives and IBDP Global Politics.
• Strong understanding of inquiry‑based learning and contemporary global issues.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English.
• Flexible, energetic, collaborative and able to motivate students.
• International school experience is desirable but not essential.
