Hybrid Cloud DevOps Engineer

About the role

Devoteam, a digital transformation consulting firm with long-standing partnerships with AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft and ServiceNow, is hiring a Hybrid Cloud DevOps Engineer in Machelen. You will join an end-to-end open-source DevOps and open network infrastructure team and work with clients' business and technical staff to design, build and deliver agile cloud solutions. Work is done flexibly, on-site at the client's office, at Devoteam's offices or from home.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deploy CI/CD infrastructure, including server-based systems running in servlet containers.
• Use configuration automation (cookbooks, roles, environments, Chef Vault), Docker for service and build containers, binary storage tools and version control tools.
• Integrate everything in the cloud for automated node management, using Python, Ruby, Bash, SQL, Jenkinsfiles and Makefiles.
• Mentor software developers and architecture teams on scalable software creation and collaborate with IT and security teams on quality releases.
• Plan integrations and additions across many systems and work on infrastructure planning.

Required profile

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field is preferred.
• Hands-on DevOps experience managing development and deployment workflows, with a history of successful projects.
• Problem-solving, collaboration, adaptability, attention to detail and basic project management skills.

Required skills

• Scripting: at least one language such as Python or Bash, and familiarity with programming concepts.
• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Ansible, Chef or Puppet.
• Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
• Containers and orchestration: Kubernetes, OpenShift.
• CI/CD pipelines: Jenkins, GitLab CI or GitHub Actions.
• Version control: Git.
• Monitoring and logging: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack.
• Networking basics (TCP/IP, HTTP/S, SSL/TLS) and basic security practices.
• Certifications in cloud, Linux, virtualization, IaC, container orchestration or security are beneficial.
