Human Resources Manager

About the role

The Human Resources Manager will lead all HR activities for Hydro's Raeren site, which employs around 200 staff. Reporting to Plant Management, the role combines strategic HR planning with day‑to‑day operational responsibilities and works closely with a local HR Administrator.

Key responsibilities

• Advise managers and employees on HR matters such as absenteeism, performance management and employee relations.
• Maintain constructive relations with unions and other social partners, ensuring compliance with Belgian labour law and Hydro policies.
• Coordinate recruitment, working with external agencies and managing onboarding processes.
• Implement HR initiatives including talent development, performance reviews, and employee engagement.
• Support workforce planning, HR reporting, and organisational change projects.
• Act as a visible, approachable HR contact on the production floor.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Psychology or a related field.
• Broad HR experience, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience in employee and labour relations, including negotiations with unions.
• Strong knowledge of Belgian labour legislation and general HR processes.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with all organisational levels.
