About the role

VAEngineering is seeking a proactive Firmware Engineer to create and maintain embedded software for a variety of hardware platforms. You will work across the full product lifecycle, from concept and architecture to production‑ready firmware and embedded Linux solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain firmware for STM32, ESP32 and similar ARM‑based microcontrollers.
• Design low‑level drivers and interfaces such as SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, GPIO, and BLE.
• Implement real‑time applications using Zephyr RTOS.
• Integrate, debug and validate peripherals, sensors and communication stacks.
• Build and maintain embedded Linux systems with the Yocto Project, including device‑tree and kernel configuration.
• Perform board bring‑up, performance optimisation, power‑consumption tuning and hardware validation.
• Collaborate closely with hardware engineers and system architects.
• Write clean, well‑documented C/C++ code and support CI/CD pipelines for firmware delivery.

Required profile

• Strong experience in embedded C/C++ development.
• Hands‑on work with STM32, ESP32 or comparable ARM MCUs.
• Solid understanding of RTOS concepts and practical experience with Zephyr.
• Deep knowledge of low‑level hardware interaction and debugging tools (JTAG, SWD, logic analyzer, oscilloscope).
• Familiarity with communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, BLE, Wi‑Fi and CAN.
