Full Stack Software Developer for NATO with security clearance

About the role

The NATO Information and Communication Agency (NCI Agency) is seeking an experienced Full Stack Software Developer to join the Command‑and‑Control Centre team. You will work on the Interoperability, Test and Assessment (IOTA) suite of tools, developing new modules and maintaining existing ones.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain software components of the IOTA suite.
• Write, update and maintain technical documentation for the tools.
• Participate in team meetings coordinated by the Lead Developer, Service Delivery Manager and Project Manager.
• Update the development backlog with progress notes and comments.

Required profile

• Nationality of a NATO member nation.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience.
• Proven knowledge of NATO Tactical Data Links (Link 16, Link 11, Link 22) and related interoperability standards.
• Experience installing and maintaining NATO Tactical Data Links services in operational settings.

Required skills

• Front‑end: Angular 17+ , HTML5, CSS, TypeScript, JavaScript.
• Back‑end: Java 17+ , Spring Framework 5.3+ , Spring Boot 3.
• RESTful web services using HTTP, HTTPS, WebSocket (WS/WSS) and SOAP.
• Automated testing with JUnit (unit, component, functional, integration).
• XML, JSON, Git, Maven, Jenkins.
• TCP/UDP/IP protocols, networking concepts and tools such as SSH and terminal.
• Knowledge of FFT (FFI, NFFI) and other military/civilian messaging standards.
