Food & Beverage Attendant – Service & Cashier

About the role

The Food & Beverage Attendant provides front‑of‑house service in a hospitality setting, handling guest orders, operating the cash register and maintaining a clean dining environment. The role supports both food preparation and beverage service while ensuring accurate billing and compliance with safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Collect sales slips, total sales on the cash register, accept payments and make change.
• Maintain cash records and present bills to guests.
• Set up food service counters, steam tables, and beverage dispensers with hot and cold items.
• Prepare coffee, tea, juices and soft drinks.
• Seat guests, record selections and transmit orders to the kitchen.
• Clean tables, work areas and ensure proper sanitation.
• Prepare fruits, vegetables, salads and portion meats or seafood for cooking.
• Monitor cooking progress to prevent over‑cooking.

Required profile

• Ability to follow oral and written instructions in English and perform basic math.
• Physical capability to lift up to 40 lb, stand, bend, stoop and walk for extended periods.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays and special events.
• Completion of at least 4 hours of food sanitation training within 30 days of hire and annual refresher.
• Meet age and medical requirements for serving alcoholic beverages.
