Financial Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Finance Accountant to join Clinigen’s finance team in Mont‑Saint‑Guibert, supporting the company’s Belgian operations. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will handle management accounting, month‑end and year‑end close, and provide internal customer support in a hybrid work setting.

Key responsibilities

• Support external audits and act as the primary contact for auditors.
• Prepare audit schedules and year‑end statutory accounts.
• Ensure compliance with local GAAP, IFRS and other statutory reporting requirements.
• Coordinate audit timelines and resolve audit queries efficiently.
• Perform month‑end activities for all aspects of the management accounts.
• Apply financial processing and authorisation procedures according to approved policies.
• Assist in the preparation of statutory financial statements in line with local accounting standards.
• Prepare tax declarations such as VAT, Intrastat and corporate tax.
• Support initiatives to obtain tax subsidies.

Required profile

• Degree in finance, accounting or a related field.
• Demonstrable audit experience.
• Proven track record in a similar finance environment.
• Knowledge of in‑house finance processes (advantageous).
• Business‑level proficiency in English and French.
• Ability to understand and communicate financial matters across business units.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to define objectives and develop frameworks.
• Collaborative mindset, comfortable working in a global, changing environment.
