Experienced GL Accountant – Liège

About the role

Gaming1, a leader in land‑based and online gaming, is expanding its finance team in Liège. The Experienced GL Accountant will own the month‑end close for a portfolio of companies, support audit processes and drive automation and AI‑based improvements across the finance function.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly and annual financial closings, delivering accurate balance‑sheet and P&L information to management.
• Analyse and monitor financial statements, ensuring compliance with BEGAAP and Belgian tax regulations.
• Manage the Procure‑to‑Pay cycle, including payment workflows and vendor reconciliations.
• Collaborate with external auditors and prepare audit documentation.
• Lead optimisation of the ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics 365) and related finance applications.
• Design and implement “Automation First” processes, using AI tools for repetitive tasks such as reconciliations, matching and reporting.
• Support the tax team on VAT, corporate tax and other fiscal matters.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum five years of experience in accounting within a medium‑to‑large organisation (50+ employees).
• Strong knowledge of BEGAAP and the Belgian fiscal environment.
• Proficiency in French and good command of English.
• Excellent deadline management, organisational skills and ability to communicate across departments.
