EU AML/CFT Compliance Officer (EU AMLCO)

About the role

NALA is expanding across the European Union and needs a senior professional to lead its AML/CFT compliance programme. As the EU AMLCO, you will be responsible for the integrity of the entire EU compliance framework, ensuring the company meets regulatory expectations while supporting rapid growth.

Key responsibilities

• Own NALA's EU AML/CFT framework end‑to‑end, aligning policies, controls and risk appetite with AMLD5/6, EBA guidelines and local transposition.
• Act as the appointed AMLCO/CO, guaranteeing full compliance with AML and CFT regulatory requirements.
• Lead preparation for the upcoming AMLA supervisory regime, mapping existing programmes to emerging expectations.
• Design, implement, review and maintain AML/CFT policies, manuals and risk‑based assessments.
• Oversee transaction monitoring, sanctions screening and PEP detection, collaborating with product and engineering teams to fine‑tune AI‑driven systems.
• Manage high‑stakes financial crime reporting obligations, including SARs and STRs, ensuring timely and accurate escalation.
• Build and maintain the Four‑Eyes governance structure and deliver AML training across the organisation.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience leading AML/CFT programmes across multiple EU jurisdictions.
• Deep knowledge of AMLD5/6, EBA guidelines, national transposition and passporting mechanisms.
• Demonstrated ability to interact with national competent authorities and regulators.
• Strong governance and training delivery capabilities.
