Enterprise Architect – Credit Domain (Freelance)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Credit Domain Architect to join a major financial services environment in Brussels on a freelance basis. The role bridges business strategy and technology, shaping the future architecture of the Credit domain.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain the Enterprise Information Architecture and Credit domain architecture.
• Develop and manage current‑state (As‑Is) and target‑state (To‑Be) architecture landscapes.
• Translate business strategy and objectives into architectural roadmaps and solutions.
• Design scalable, secure, and sustainable architectures for IT projects.
• Provide guidance on new technologies, cloud adoption, integration approaches, APIs, and data architecture.
• Support architecture governance, conduct solution reviews, and ensure alignment with enterprise standards.
• Monitor implementation progress and recommend improvements to maintain alignment with the target architecture.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in Enterprise Architecture and/or the Credit domain.
• Strong understanding of banking and financial services.
• Hands‑on experience designing architectures within a complex IT environment.
• Knowledge of Credit/Lending processes and systems.
• Analytical, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Proactive mindset, able to influence change and work independently.
• Comfortable in a dynamic, multicultural environment.
• Good knowledge of French, Dutch and English.
