Embedded Software Developer

About the role

Dalemans is seeking an Embedded Software Developer to join its R&D team and contribute to the development of advanced gas detection systems. You will work in a multidisciplinary environment, creating firmware for ARM‑based devices and PC tools that configure and update those devices.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain embedded software in C for ARM microcontrollers.
• Develop PC configuration and update tools, preferably using Qt or Robot Framework.
• Manage version control, releases, and deployment using Git and Atlassian tools.
• Create and execute validation tests for embedded firmware.
• Analyse and resolve field issues reported by users.
• Write technical documentation, including architecture, specifications, and certification material.
• Monitor emerging technologies relevant to gas detection and safety.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or related engineering field.
• 2‑5 years of professional experience in embedded development, preferably on ARM platforms.
• Fluent French and strong written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Proficiency in C and Python.
• Experience with C++ and C# is a plus.
• Knowledge of real‑time operating systems such as FreeRTOS and bare‑metal programming.
• Familiarity with Qt framework and/or Robot Framework for PC tools.
• Understanding of communication buses (CAN, Modbus) and hardware interfaces.
• Experience with functional safety standards is advantageous.
• Comfort with Git and Atlassian suite for collaboration.
