Electronics Engineer - Avionics

About the role

Aerospacelab, which designs and manufactures small satellites and develops earth observation services, is looking for an Electronics Engineer in its Avionics department in Belgium. The role supports or leads the design of electrical and electronics subsystems for spacecraft missions, such as power electronics, high-speed digital hardware and sensor interfaces, and works on digital and analog embedded hardware.

Key responsibilities

• Support or lead electrical and electronics subsystem design for spacecraft missions, including power electronics, high-speed digital hardware and sensor interfaces.
• Work on digital and analog embedded hardware.
• Support all stages of the development chain: specification, design, integration, test, operations and maintenance.
• Develop test plans that cover units and the complete system.
• Support design reviews to ensure requirements and interface compliance.
• Depending on experience, drive full projects and lead a team of multidisciplinary engineers (flight software/FPGA developers and mechanical/thermal engineers).

Required profile

• MSc in Electrical Engineering, Electro-mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Several years of experience in electronics circuit design.
• Experience with diagnosis/debug and system-level testing methodologies.
• Ability to work across the team and company to drive designs to completion.
• Good communication and willingness to learn; good English.
• Nice to have: experience leading full projects from requirements to delivery, proficiency with electronic design and simulation software, and programming experience (e.g. Python, C).
